Angela Simmons: All Grown Up, Where is She Now?
Angela Simmons has lived in the public eye since childbirth and used her exposure as a springboard into her adult life. She is known to be the daughter of the former DMC founding member, Joseph Simmons, or, as America likes to call him Rev Run. She previously starred on her father’s reality show, “Run’s House” on MTV. Viewers fell in love with Angela Simmons’s genuine, warm, and loving personality meanwhile she began to build a following. Simmons used this opportunity to design footwear along with sister; Vanessa called “Pastries” for Run’s Athletics. These sneakers came in designs inspired by different cakes. Angela Simmons has always been creative and has made her own opportunities for her love of fashion. This love of fashion became so strong that she left the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City to become a fashion designer, writer, and businesswoman full time. In 2006, Angela had a spin off magazine, “Angela’s Rundown” featured in Word Up magazine. The go-getter mentality has sent Angela far in the entertainment industry, as she is someone who many look up to because of her outstanding work ethic and fashion sense.
Where is Angela Simmons now? Angela has a personal blog, “AngelaIAM.com” being the official website for Angela. Angela has a faux-fur line, “Foofi” named after her toy poodle. “Foofi” is made up of neon hoodies, moto vests, and coats. She recently acted in the movie, “Supermodel,” with co-star Tyson Beckford. This is a film concerning racism in the model industry. Ms. Angela is an executive producer and star in a documentary about the children of Hip-Hop stars. She also is the creator of “Girl Talk Takeover,” a fitness and health event for Boys and Girls Clubs of America in New York. The New Yorker’s love for fashion sets her apart because of her learned experiences from designing, modeling, and just keeping a hand on the latest trends. BRIGHT BUT RIGHT
Angela’s yellow biker blazer makes this look pop! The white shirt allows the pink bra underneath to show its pink tint, matching with the pointed toe pink stilettos just right. The dark blue skinny jean makes this outfit casual with a little flare. Simmons’ necklace showcases the pink and yellow, bringing the whole piece together.
CRUELLA DE VILLE GOES STREET
White and black are classic colors that works for any occasion. For this look Angela Simmons dresses it down with an above the knee white dress that is short sleeved. The black stripe in the middle of the dress gives it character. She looks futuristic with a high sleek bun, and black sunglasses. The red lipstick and silver jewelry provides a bit of glamour, and elevates this ensemble. With black high top Converse Angela is ready to take a walk in the New York City streets.
SEXY SLATE
Contour, contour, contour, and we aren’t talking makeup! The grey, sexy three-quarter-length dress contours Angela’s body, highlighting her curves. The smooth textures throughout the dress make it look seamless. The overall structure is significant because of the stitching in the middle and on the sides. This stitching is in grey, yet it stands out because the dress is a sleek piece. The pink glittered heel is designed by Christian Louboutin and makes this outfit fun. With plenty of volume Angela’s hair almost steals the show because of the deep body curl. Her makeup is flawless. The smoky eye, highlighted cheekbones, and nude lip are just enough to make this look a memorable one.
Washed-Out, Wipe Out!
Angela Simmon’s straight hair is simple but chic. The washed-out denim is a punk look because of the rips and tears. Wearing the denim jacket off of the shoulders, and the collared shirt halfway tucked-in screams, “Bad Girl.” It is no surprise that Ms. Angela likes color as she adds yellow in this outfit. The shade of yellow is light enough that it does not steal the denim’s spotlight. Angela’s makeup is a smoky eye and nude lip. No wonder why Yo Gotti has a crush on Angela Simmons!
Porcelain Doll?!
The first thing that catches the eye is the graphic skirt chosen by Rev Run himself! The green is a base for the red, yellow, and purple flowers. The skirt is elegant as it is outlined in black. The nude bodysuit and black bra makes it look modern, including the nude pumps. Angela’s hair is in a high braided pony. The makeup consists of a smoky eye, plum matte lip and contour that are oh so quintessential! Angela Simmons looks like a porcelain doll, looking as if she made the clothing herself.
What makes Angela Simmons a success story is her consistency in the fashion and entertainment industry. Angela remains relevant by designing clothing, acting, directing, philanthropy, her gifts are endless. She does not rely on her father’s household name to reach her dreams, instead she writes her own story. Simmons finds time to giveback to the community, and keeping God and her family first.
